Sustainability - The bicycle container

We at iCON have already seen many uses for containers and were therefore particularly pleased when we were introduced to this bicycle container. Especially in times of climate change and the changing mobility in cities, we think it is important to focus on alternatives to the car. Our 20 High Cube containers can contribute to sustainability after being converted by a Chemnitz-based company. It's best if this company introduces itself.

The RWC factory

The RWC factory GmbH is a young company that focuses on sustainable mobility and infrastructure. The VELOBRIX product line is a sustainable and secure bike parking system. As a provider, we supply everything from a single source, from hardware and software to service and maintenance during operation. The basis for the VELOBRIX L model is a 20 feet HC container from iCON International Container Services GmbH. After delivery to our manufacturing facility, the conversion to a bicycle parking container begins.

The construction of the bicycle container

The completed VELOBRIX units can be set up without foundation and excavation work. This simplifies the planning process enormously and reduces costs. A relocation in case of non-optimal site selection is also possible without much effort. VELOBRIX is mainly installed in public areas by cities, counties and municipalities. However, the safe parking of bicycles, pedelecs and e-bikes is also becoming increasingly important for companies and housing cooperatives. With VELOBRIX, we want to make a contribution to e-mobility and support the bicycle in becoming a fully-fledged means of transport. Safe accommodation and accessible charging infrastructure play an important role in this.
